Clearing and Forwarding
Manica offers comprehensive services across all aspects of Clearing and Forwarding cargo for both Sea freight and Airfreight. With considerable experience in the Sea freight industry Manica remains a market leader and acts as Agents for a number of  importers & exporters in the region , as well to shipping lines on a through Bill of Ladings - Manica's focus of attention is customer service, ensuring shipments by sea, air, road or rail are delivered safely and on time.


Warehousing
Manica has 5 separate warehouse complexes throughout the country providing covered storage areas for all cargo types, as well as open secure storage for containerized or project / rolling cargo.

Transport and Workshop
The comprehensively equipped workshop serves to repair and maintain the numerous light and heavy commercial vehicles as well as handling equipment. Fully trained Manica personnel operate the numerous forklifts / spreader up to a maximum capacity of 35 tonnes in conjunction with the latest lashing equipment available for safely securing loads onto trailers / rail wagons.

Road Haulage
There is no formal road transport system in Mozambique offering scheduled services, consequently Manica operates and maintains its own fleet for the prompt movement of cargo to and from the port area. Heavy trucks are coupled to a range of tandem and tri-axle flatbed trailers, fitted with twist-locks for the movement of containerized and break-bulk consignments. It has developed close business relations with local sub-contractors who meet the stringent criteria for the safe and efficient haulage of goods countrywide and over-border.
A maximum permissible payload of 28 tonnes applies.

Marine (Claims and Surveys)
In addition to having been the official Lloyds Agent in Mozambique , in excess of 100 years, Manica is also agent for “ R.M. de Gruyter “ and “ P&I Associates “ and are able to offer a range of services which include:-

Joint Ventures
Manica as part of its expansion programme has established strategic alliances with various local and international Companies some of which are listed below.

Sugar Terminal ( In Maputo )
500,000 Tonnes of sugar (Clearing, Forwarding & Ships Agency) involving 30 vessels are handled annually (during the sugar season – March-November ), cargo originating from Swaziland, Zimbabwe & South Africa , as well manage the terminal on behalf of sugar

Ferro Alloys (Maputo & Beira)
300,000 Tonnes of Ferro alloys are handled under a joint stevedoring contract with the Mozambican Port Authorities and  Cornelder from Holland.

Mozal Project (Maputo)
A Joint Venture Stevedoring Company , where in Manica is the major share holder (60%)
handles per annum about 2,000,000 Tonnes , of which 1,500,000 is made up of the raw material, Alumina and Pet Coke , and the balance of 500,000 Tonnes being processed aluminium ingots.

Nacala Corridor
The consortium made up by  American “RDC –Rail Development Corporation and Edlow Resources Inc , Mozambican empowerment  entities and Manica , are the entities that will run and operate the Malawi Railways and the Port of Nacala , as from March, 2004.

 
ISO 9001:2000 Accreditation
Manica is justly proud to be the first company in Mozambique to be awarded the prestigious SABS ISO9002:1994 accreditation (incidentally firstly in the Beira office which was the founding location of Manica, Mozambique, thence at all Mozambican Ports ) in respect of International Freight Services including, Ships Agency, International Forwarding, Warehousing and Marine Claims. It is already been upgraded to the new SABS ISO9001:2000.
